PLACES TO EAT IN Anchorage, Alaska ↠ Moose's Tooth Pub and Pizzeria.

Ask anyone who lives in Anchorage, or has visited on vacation, for restaurant suggestions and Moose's Tooth Pub and Pizzeria is almost always the first place suggested. Dave and I had it on our list of places to visit the entire time we lived in Anchorage, but it ended up being one of the last places we tried since we lived there in the summer and the place was packed (with a patio full of people on the waiting list) at all hours of the day. 

We went back last week when we made our trip to Anchorage (it was just that good) and there was still a crazy wait, which says a lot since it's still winter and most things slow down a lot up here. Totally worth the wait...

So good. 

If you make a trip to Moose's Tooth, you must...MUST try the Diablo Bread Sticks. They are (second from last picture above) cheese sticks with chili spices and the most amazing chipotle and ranch dipping sauce. And now I'm drooling. 

We've tried two different kinds of veggie pizzas and they were both delicious. Their beer makes the trip worth it too, I've gotten the Wild Country Raspberry Wheat both times and wish I could get some here in Juneau!

Places to Stay in Alaska ↠ 4 Reasons I Love the Sheraton in Downtown Anchorage.

I decided to do my very first hotel review and "Places to Stay" post to kick off the posts about Anchorage places we love (UPDATED: all of my Places to Visit in Anchorage posts are up).

Dave and I have stayed at the Sheraton in Downtown Anchorage three times now, and I don't think we'll ever stay anywhere else when we make trips to Anchorage, AK. Just make sure you rent a car to get around out of downtown and see the beauty further north of Anchorage!

Here are 4 reasons we love it!

1. Finding places to stay in Alaska can be extremely expensive, especially in peak travel season (summer), but the Sheraton has the best prices we've found in it's range of hotels.

2. This four star hotel is in the heart of downtown Anchorage and the perfect spot to stay if you want to be able to walk around.

3. Don't even get me started on the views. We love the amazing mountain views from the Sheraton downtown and being able to see Anchorage from above in the comfort of your own room. They will take your breath away. 

4. Always clean and curious staff. They gave great advice when asking about restaurants or when there were things we forgot. And since it's the Sheraton you know exactly what you're getting, since their hotels are always clean and decorated about the same. It's not a kooky local Anchorage hotel, but you'll be able to spend the money you saved (see #1) on other more important things to do in Anchorage...like feast at Moose's Tooth Pub and Pizzeria!
