Lavelier Luxury Anti Aging Skin Care Review | Mallorie Owens

November 9, 2018 Mallorie Owens
Lavelier Luxury Anti Aging Skin Care Review | Mallorie Owens

Full disclosure: This post is not sponsored, but these items were gifted to me to try out and give an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.

When I was asked if I wanted to try the Lavelier Skin Care Coral Luminous Collection, I honestly was hoping to try it and not love it because of the price tag. I went into this thinking it would have to live up to the claims that the highly concentrated formula gently helps to reduce hyperpigmentation and aging in order for me to recommend it.

If you’ve followed me for a hot minute, you know that I’ve dealt with hyperpigmentation and redness/rough skin since getting pregnant with Iris. Nothing has worked so far and I was told the only thing that would truly work would be a peel at the plastic surgeons office and other expensive treatments. So, I figured if this worked the same way, it would save me a trip and probably money in the long run.

Here are the details of each product from the website:

THE COLLECTION: The Coral Luminous Collection targets discoloration caused by age, sun, and acne. It evens skin tone and protects you from harmful sunrays.

THE SERUM: Lavelier Skin Clair Repair is a specialized treatment designed to target the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation of your face and neck. This concentrated formula includes powerful ingredients like Kojic Acid, Lactic Acid and the melanin-inhibiting effects of Oligopeptide-68, which gently help to reduce signs of skin discoloration and maintain a brighter and more balanced-looking complexion.

THE MOISTURIZER: Achieve a luminous and more balanced complexion while protecting your skin against harmful UV rays with Lavelier Divine Day Defense SPF 30. This moisture cream is formulated with a blend of powerful antioxidants, marine extracts and brightening botanicals to help protect your skin daily, leaving it with a refreshed and more youthful-looking radiance.

FACE MASKS: Nurture and restore the youthful look of brilliant vivaciousness to your face and eyes with the ultra-luxurious Coral Luminous Masque from Lavelier. This lush, powerful mask is infused with marine botanicals and Seaweed Extract to help promote a more balanced and lustrous complexion while nourishing Lavender and essential oils soothe dry, fatigued skin for an age-defying improvement in the appearance of moisture and suppleness.

…a lot to live up to, right? I thought so too. The entire line is also paraben and cruelty free.

Here’s what happened…

Luxury Beauty | Lavelier Skin Care Review | Mallorie Owens

First off, I have to say the boxing and packaging from Lavelier is beautiful and feels higher end. As it should. It arrived in a big, heavy box and then the individual boxes for each product were really nice. The silver look and fun black accents on the serum bottle and moisturizer jar make it sleek and fun to display on my bathroom counter.

It’s really hard to choose, but I think the Skin Clair Repair Serum is my favorite from the line. You only need one, sometimes two, drops per night added to a small amount of your night time moisturizer and it’s pretty much the most amazing thing my skin has ever felt. Not trying to be dramatic, but that’s what I think to myself every night as I gently pat and rub it into my skin. If I’m feeling extra and want the spa experience (although the serum itself will give you that), I roll it in with my jade roller and love knowing it’s getting the ingredients to soak in even better.

I believe the serum lives up to what it says it will do. My dark spots are getting lighter and I think this is the main reason. Soooooo excited about this! My hyperpigmentation is something that’s bothered me since they started showing up and I will be so happy if they go away completely or even close.

Lavelier Luxury Skin Care Review | Is it worth the hype? | Mallorie Owens

The moisturizer is my next favorite, because I get to use it every morning and it is so light and fluffy (not what I’m used to in products that work for my dry skin). Like the serum, a little goes a very long way, which is something to keep in mind when considering the price. I only need a dab on each section of my face and neck and it absorbs and spreads so easily. I’ve talked about this before, but that’s rare for products on the more natural side that have SPF, they tend to be really hard to spread and leave a white film. The Divine Day Defense doesn’t do that at all!

Speaking of SPF, I am 32 going on 33 and most people are shocked when they hear my age. My mom (I am adopted, so genetics aren't in play) is the same way and it is because she always wore spf and I’m thankful she preached to me the benefits. She also ingrained in me the importance of starting a skin care routine before you need it and now that I’m on the other side of 30 I can say that is SO true. The Lavelier Coral Luminous Line moisturizer has SPF 30, which is really high and I really appreciate knowing the work I’m doing to maintain and “fix” my skin is being protected from the sun.

Last, but not least, the $3,000 pack of face masks. Are they worth it?! In short, that depends on your skin care budget. I know, that might not be helpful, but I’m not going to tell you to go into debt over face masks. I will tell you that they do feel amazing and even Dave said he could tell my skin was glowing. My only criticism of the entire line is the face mask is so full of hydrating goodness that it was really hard to get positioned on my face and kept slipping off, so I had to lie down to keep it on. Not that taking a few minutes to relax with my eyes closed with a luxurious face mask on is a bad thing, but just something to keep in mind.

Have you tried Lavelier before? Would you? I want to know your thoughts in the comments! I loved getting to try this line and look forward to trying other products of theirs in the future.

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Attractions ↠ Dolly Parton's Christmas Celebration Show!

November 1, 2018 Mallorie Owens
Dolly Parton Christmas Celebration Show Pigeon Forge, TN Attraction | Mallorie Owens

We were invited to attend Dolly Parton’s Christmas Celebration Show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee a few weeks ago on opening weekend and we were so blown away by the entire production. I have to admit, I was a little unsure about enjoying a Christmas show before Halloween, because I loooove Halloween and am not someone who likes to skip the holiday. But, once we were inside, I was so immersed in the Christmas lights and decor that I completely forgot about any hesitation. I did want to wait until today to post though, for those like me. Now we can get into the Thanksgiving and Christmas spirit!

My first tip for anyone who takes a family trip to see the Christmas Celebration show in Pigeon Forge is to get there early. There are lots of games and delicious drinks to enjoy before the show, and you’ll want to be in your seat for the pre-show. They have an award winning fiddle player and entertainment as soon as you sit down (great for squirmy kiddos).

As soon as we sat down for pre-show our waitress took our drink orders and then the food started rolling out as soon as the main show began. You won’t go hungry, I can promise you that! The macaroni and sweet potatoes were SO good! I could have eaten an entire meal with just those two sides.

The show was very fast paced and included favorites like The Nutcracker. As you can see from the photo above, it kept Iris enthralled. There was only one short point she started to get squirmy, but she’s also good about things like this, so if you’re worried about it you might wait until you feel like your kids are ready.

Another tip I have is you don’t have to purchase a ticket for children under 4, but if you want them to have their own seat and food you will want to get one. It was nice to have a chair just for Iris, since she’s miss independent these days, she liked getting to sit in her own chair at times. She was all about the chicken that night and we were able what she didn’t eat to go, which was nice since she’s a toddler and doesn’t eat big meals at once.

Throughout the show, there is a jester character that entertains in the in-between moments when they are switching sets, that way the kids don’t lose interest. That was really nice and Iris loved him!

My top two favorite parts of the show were the light show and a giant angel at the end of the nativity scene. You don’t want to miss the incredible costume and the angel’s grand entrance. Iris’ eyes were as big as saucers.

The use of animals was also great for bringing a toddler, there were sheep, donkeys, a wolf, and talking pig that Iris is STILL bringing up! She couldn’t believe her eyes.

I’m so glad we got to experience the show with her at this age, even though I know she won’t remember, watching her take it all in was so precious and priceless. I know I’ll remember it forever.

Have you been to a Celebration Dinner Show? Let me know in the comments what you saw and how old your kids were when you went!
