Places to Eat in Haines, Alaska ↠ Klondike Saloon.

We stumbled on Klondike Saloon during our first trip to Haines, Alaska. We weren't really sure what to expect, since the Southeast Alaska Fair area (aka Dalton City) seemed to be deserted. I'm soooo happy we decided to peek our heads in, just in case. Best pizza ever.

There were a few fun White Fang memorabilia type items in the restaurant, since the restaurant is located in Dalton City- the movie set that was moved to Haines after filming. And if you're lucky enough to go when it's warmer, you can sit outside and enjoy the gorgeous view.

Places to Visit in Haines, Alaska ↠ Southeast Alaska Fairgrounds (AKA Dalton City).

We stumbled upon the Southeast Alaska State Fairgrounds on our first trip to Haines, Alaska. When we got there, we thought it was closed...kinda creepy. It looks like an old town that's been abandoned, but there are so many gems tucked away in these buildings. It's also called Dalton City, because it's the set from White Fang that was moved here once filming was over.

Of course, if you're in Haines in the summer (perfect time for fishing), you should definitely grab a ticket for Beer Fest. Make sure to grab your ticket in advance though, they go fast! This is one thing I'm really bummed we missed out on during our time in Alaska.

Our favorite spots at Southeast Alaska State Fair are Haines Brewing Company and Klondike Saloon. The people are so friendly and in the summer these places are hopping. I love coming in the off-season though when it's quiet. The locals have more time to chat about life in Haines and it's so peaceful taking in the gorgeous views.
