Places to Visit in Juneau, Alaska ↠ Lemon Creek Trail.

Dave and I have been trying to commit to hiking one new trail each weekend. Last weekend we set out to try Lemon Creek Trail out behind Home Depot. The trail was pretty dry (I guess a lot of times it isn't) and just the right amount of challenging...at least for our newbie hiker selves. The uphill climbs were followed by just enough flat ground to recover. We'll definitely go again.

I was told that all the pretty yellow things blooming are about to be the very smelly skunk cabbage...which attract bears. So next time we'll definitely be on the lookout! I think our only wish was that this trail was a bit longer, because we wanted to keep going. But, by the time we got back to the car we (and the dog) were sufficiently wiped out.

We left Lemon Creek Trail with one muddy, tired, and happy dog. Success.

For anyone in Alaska, any recommendations for trails we should check out next? Let me know in the comments!
