Places to Stay in Alaska ↠ 4 Reasons I Love the Sheraton in Downtown Anchorage.

I decided to do my very first hotel review and "Places to Stay" post to kick off the posts about Anchorage places we love (UPDATED: all of my Places to Visit in Anchorage posts are up).

Dave and I have stayed at the Sheraton in Downtown Anchorage three times now, and I don't think we'll ever stay anywhere else when we make trips to Anchorage, AK. Just make sure you rent a car to get around out of downtown and see the beauty further north of Anchorage!

Here are 4 reasons we love it!

1. Finding places to stay in Alaska can be extremely expensive, especially in peak travel season (summer), but the Sheraton has the best prices we've found in it's range of hotels.

2. This four star hotel is in the heart of downtown Anchorage and the perfect spot to stay if you want to be able to walk around.

3. Don't even get me started on the views. We love the amazing mountain views from the Sheraton downtown and being able to see Anchorage from above in the comfort of your own room. They will take your breath away. 

4. Always clean and curious staff. They gave great advice when asking about restaurants or when there were things we forgot. And since it's the Sheraton you know exactly what you're getting, since their hotels are always clean and decorated about the same. It's not a kooky local Anchorage hotel, but you'll be able to spend the money you saved (see #1) on other more important things to do in Anchorage...like feast at Moose's Tooth Pub and Pizzeria!

Mini-Vacay to the "Big City".

Dave and I had a great time in Anchorage last week. It was so nice to get out of Juneau for a few days and spend some time where there are real malls and Targets and other such wonderful things. Fernanda thought it was hilarious we were calling it the big city, but hey, when you live in Juneau it sure feels like it!
