Skin Care Travel Essentials ↠ what I always travel with and how to pack it in your carry on!

April 23, 2018 Mallorie Owens
skin care travel essentials | mallorie owens

Skin care products are some of the most important things to pack when traveling. Between dehytrating flights (and road trips too!) and changing climates that wreak havoc on your skin, travel is not the time to abandon your current skin care routine. You might even want to step it up a notch when traveling!

If you're like me, you don't travel light and that includes skin care products. I always bring my daily moisturizer, moisterizer with spf, eye cream, my current favorite serum, and a face mask or two when I travel. Overkill? Whose to say. ;)

But, if you need to cut down on the amount you're packing or are carrying on only, these are the skin care products I couldn't travel without...

The two skin care essentials I don't travel without that are carry on approved! -- click to tweet

A good moisturizer: I always have dry skin and I can't go a day without moisturizer, but it's extra important when traveling. Saranghae Skin Care Five Step Anti-Aging Routine has my favorite korean moisturizer and although I get not wanting to pack the entire skin care line, the moisturizer is a travel essential and you can bring it up a little further under your eyes than normal if you don't have room for your eye cream. My full review of Saranghae Skin Care with a video!

A face mask or two: I've said it a million times already in this post, but flying is dehydrating and it can show on your skin. That's why a face mask is high on my list of skin care essentials for travel. It's the easiest way to get lots of moisture back in your skin and leave you feeling more refreshed post flight! I do the Saranghae face mask about once a week and will definitely be taking one on our quick trip to Kansas next week.

If you're only bringing a carry on, or just want to make sure your skin care products are accessible (in-flight masking anyone?) you can grab some of these handy little TSA approved travel jars for your moisturizer. If you have room, one of these jars would also be great for your eye cream and that would be third on my list to pack! The face mask can go right in your liquids ziplock bag (or clear TSA approved liquids bag if you're fancy).

I never just have a carry on, so I always put all of my skin care products in two plastic shopping bags along with my shampoo, etc. I put everything in one bag, knot the bag, and then bag everything in the second bag and tie again. This way if something spills it doesn't get on my clothes. I've been doing this since high school and it works!

And, although not technically a skin care product, make sure you're drinking plenty of water when you travel! This will help save your skin and also prevent jet lag. I always grab a bottle as soon as I get through security since you can't have any in your bag before that and the little cup on the plane is never enough.

What's one thing you can't live without in your skin care routine? Do you have a skin care travel tip I didn't mention? Let me know in the comments below!

And if you're looking for Alaska travel guides or guides for Knoxville, Austin, and more you can find them all here.

Why I Added Maven Botanics to my Skin Care Routine | Video Review and Giveaway!

February 6, 2018 Mallorie Owens
Maven Botanics Simple Natural Skin Care Routine Review and Giveaway | MALLORIE OWENS

I have been adding natural and essential oils into my anti aging skin care routine for a long time now, so when I found out there was a product like Maven Botanics Enlightened skin revitalizing oil that incorporated all natural and organic ingredients that all have a purpose for your skin, I knew I wanted to try it! I've tried a lot of skin care products and I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best skin care products I've found.

see also: Saranghae Skin Care Five Step Anti-Aging Routine

Finding the perfect natural and organic skin care products is difficult because you have to sift through all of the products claiming to be natural and then once you narrow it down you have to find the ones that work well on your skin and do what they claim to do. I've tried so many natural products that don't absorb or are impossible to apply and others that make me break out.

Thanks to the essential oils, the Maven Botanics Enlightened skin care product smells amazing. All of the other oils, like rosehip seed oil and sweet almond oil, make it feel so luxurious. I’ve been trying to use my bottle of Enlightened sparingly, because I want it to last, but I also just want to smother my face in it!

They are giving a FREE travel size Enlightened oil with any full sized purchase through Valentine's Day, which is an amazing deal. And we are giving away a full sized bottle ($118 value) over on Instagram, so make sure to enter to win your own!

Ingredients: argan oil, evening primrose oil, borage oil, golden jojoba oil, rosehip seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, hemp seed oil, pomegranate seed oil, meadowfoam oil, sweet almond oil, tocopherol (vitamin e), essential oils of: frankincense, bergamot, and lavender.

I talk about how I use the oil and why I love adding it to my skin care routine in the video...

Please let me know in the comments down below, youtube, email, or on my instagram if you have any questions in general or about the Maven Botanics Enlightened skin revitalizing oil specifically, I'd be happy to answer if I can! Also, I know I've been doing a lot more sponsored posts on my blog and on instagram, but I hope you all know I only accept and post about products I truly adore and would/do use myself and for my family. I've been approached by brands such as Doritos, Clinique, etc, but these are not natural products that we use ourselves, so I would never accept a product like this or tell you how "amazing" it is, no matter how much they pay. I love sharing things that work for us and I hope you all enjoy them as well! This post specifically was not sponsored, but I did receive the Enlightened oil to try myself and I couldn't wait to share with you all!

And, if you're still with me here, my favorite mascara went bad this week, but as promised the next one I purchase will be a natural and organic mascara to try for you guys. I would love any recommendations in the comments below! Thanks so much for reading and watching and I hope you all have a wonderful week.
