Last minute EASY Halloween scarecrow costume with makeup!

Last minute EASY Halloween costume with makeup! | Mallorie Owens

If you’re in need of a last-minute and very easy Halloween costume, this scarecrow costume is really easy! I can almost guarantee you have a flannel in your closet. You might even a floppy hat, although that isn’t necessary. That’s all that’s needed to pull this look together, other than the makeup, and I promise the makeup is doable for anyone!

It seems like a lot when you see the steps below and it can take some time to blend properly, but it’s not tough and I recommend saving this or my instagram post so you can zoom in where needed on the photo and double-check your work if you’re a visual learner like me. I’ve been thinking about updating this with a youtube video, is that something anyone would want? Let me know!

I did my daughter and husband’s makeup the same way, with a little less detail on the eyes and mouth. We went as a scarecrow family, it turned out so cute and my daughter loved it!

Family Costume Easy DIY Scarecrow Makeup | Mallorie Owens

Here are the scarecrow makeup steps:

Prime your face with your skin care routine and prime eyes with concealer or Urban Decay eye primer. Do your brows as usual or even a bit heavier than usual.

Use any orange and caramel warm brown colors to build up the outer corner of your eyes. I used Morphe colors (I’ve linked everything below) and they turned out gorgeous for this look! If you’re wearing false lashes like I did, build the outer corner out a bit further than you normally would. This probably takes the most time because with these colors you have to really blend and slowly build them up so you don’t look crazy!

Use a light shimmer color, I used the highlight color in my new Pop Beauty palette (SO pretty!) for the entire lid and then blend the transition shades again. Add the highlight color to the brow bone as well.

In the inner corner I added a bit of gold glitter from the Pop Beauty palette, this is an extra step, but I thought it was fun. I’m all about glitter right now, so unlike me!

Now that the top of the eyes is finished, put primer all over, conceal your under eyes and anywhere else you like, and add your foundation.

For the lower lash, I did Morphe Carmelized blended out with Anastasia Orange Soda. The drawn on lashes are Urban Decay Blackout on a brush and wet. Clinique eyeliner just under lash line.

Blush, I used the Morphe Carmelized and swirled it (using my blending brush) to make the classic round scarecrow blushing cheeks. I added Fiesta on top to make it a bit more of a blush color.

For the lips, I outlined them with the Morphe eyeshadows, blending and shading. This is an extra step, but I thought it pulled the mouth together, especially when I smiled. I added the black eyeshadow to the center for depth and topped with one of my favorite Buxom glosses.

I used my liquid eyeliner for the stitching and in places that might be a bit tricky, I outlined first where I wanted stitching to go with my Clinique eyeliner.

On the center of the nose I used the Spice and Carmelized again topped with Morphe Dazzling.

Another extra step, not required, that I did was add a bit of shading with Carmelized. I did this on the chin and forehead.

Highlight top of nose (above stitching), top of brows, and top of cheek bones.

Last, do your liquid eyeliner, apply mascara top and bottom, and apply lashes.
