Places to Eat in Austin, Texas ↠ Proof and Cooper.

After Dave's show on Sunday at Westcave Cellars Winery, we decided to make a stop at the new restaurant Proof and Cooper. We hadn't eaten since breakfast and it was 6pm when we headed out and I knew I couldn't make it the whole hour long drive home without at least a snack. I'd had my eye on Proof and Cooper since he'd started playing the shows out there and once I spotted their cheesy tater tots on instagram I knew I wanted some asap.

Sadly, they were out of the tater tots by the time we showed up (it was a special and once they're out, they're out), but the whole menu looked delicious and so did their drinks, so we decided to make a meal out of it. I had the Catfish Sandwich and The Gardner to drink both were delicious, Dave had their burger and it looked amazing...

...I definitely recommend a trip out here if you're out in west Austin near Hamilton Pool! I'm hoping Dave will set up some shows at Proof and Cooper soon, they had a nice stage and now that it's cooling off, it's a great spot with the patio. Also, they're specials are rotating, so I'm excited what other treats they come up with (judging by the cheesy tater tots, they're going to be GOOD).

Has anyone else in Austin been to Proof and Cooper yet? Let me know what you tried in the comments!

Places to Visit in Austin, Texas ↠ Westcave Cellars Winery.

If you're looking for an afternoon getaway near Austin, Westcave Cellars is the perfect spot! Their winery is located out by Hamilton Pool and it's such a pretty location. Plus, you can taste their fabulous wine and on most Sunday's they have live music from 2-5. It's truly a slice of heaven on earth.

Dave has been playing there every couple of Sundays this summer and fall (next show is October 18th from 2-5!), so we've been trying out their wines and they're so good! My favorite is the Viognier, it's not super sweet but not too dry either. It's up there for my favorite wine I've ever tried. So good. The White Merlot and Spectrum White are also favorites, but I haven't tried anything I don't like so far...you really can't go wrong. If you like extra sweet wines, I recommend the Sweet Rosé. Next on my list to try is their Merlot!

These are some pictures from Dave's show out there this past weekend, I'm excited for the next few shows since it will be much cooler weather...

If you live in Austin (or make a trip here), I definitely recommend spending an afternoon at Westcave Cellars, especially if on a Sunday when Dave is playing. ;) I promise you'll love the view and wine!
