I didn't mean to do two drink recipes in a row, but it's Cinco de Mayo and I wanted to share this margarita recipe...whatcha gonna do...
If I have a craving for a drink other than a beer or glass of wine, it's pretty much always a margarita that I want. And as much as I love a good sugary margarita from a mexican restaurant, those things are about a million calories. No lie. Dave and I love making margaritas at home, that way we know exactly what's going into it and they're so light and refreshing!
I was really excited when I got the opportunity to grab a bottle of Tradicional 100% Blue Agave Tequila courtesy of Jose Cuervo and share a favorite recipe with you all. I mean, who can say no to free tequila? Certainly not me...
This recipe can be done with or without the raspberries (if you'd like to make a traditional skinny margarita)...both ways are delicious.
2 small limes
1 shot of Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver Tequila
Splash of Triple Sec
Handful of raspberries (or fruit of choice), we used frozen because fruit doesn't last here in Alaska.
1 small bottle of tonic water
Ice
Directions ≫≫
Squeeze the juice of two small limes into a small glass. Pour the shot of tequila in and add a splash of triple sec.
Fill the glass up with tonic water, but make sure to leave room for your ice and fruit! Mix well. Throw in a handful of raspberries and a few pieces of ice.
