The skin on our face is the most delicate body part we have, and the one that is on display all day every day. We, as women, try our best to be healthy in all aspects of our lives, all while we use and abuse our skin. But, it’s so easy to make a few small changes that will make huge differences.
One of the best things you can do for your skin is to make sure never to go to bed with your makeup on. Someone told me when I first started wearing makeup, that sleeping you’re your makeup on ages your skin 30 days. One month for every time you decide to be lazy! I’m not sure what the truth is in that, but I do know that it’s good to let your skin breathe. I’ve probably only slept in my makeup 3-5 times in my life. I think it’s one of the things that has helped keep my skin looking young.
Another thing I highly recommend is to invest in a good skin cream. I’m always rotating the brands, but I make sure to have a quality eye cream, moisturizer, anti-aging cream, and a night cream (usually one with extra moisture for my dry skin). I never miss a day! I can feel a difference if I don’t put my moisturizer on in the morning. It can add up, but I promise they’re worth it.
One of my favorite tips, mainly because it’s free, is to drink LOTS of water. I’ve always been a camel when it comes to drinking water, and I like to think it pays off. Just a quick google search about water and your skin will show you how much water can do for you. Plus, it helps you loose weight, gives you energy, and just does a body good. Forget milk, and grab a glass of water. ;)
And last, but not least, if you need a bit of extra help, Galderma has Soolantra Cream for bumps related to rosacea. Learn more about rosacea and treatments on the Break Up With Your Makeup page. While you’re there, be sure to enter for a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to the Fall 2015 New York Film Festival by sharing how you stay confident even on "tough skin days” along with a no makeup selfie.
